Donald Trump – From a Twitter Ban to Victory on X 💪🏻
12 /Feb
The world has had the opportunity to witness one of the biggest global non-traveling "circuses" since the beginning of this year. Of course, elections are not a "circus" but a serious and important event that determines the fate of people. The U.S. elections were presented as a decision that affects not only American citizens but people all around the world. Donald Trump eliminated Joe Biden from the presidential race, followed by his replacement, Kamala Harris.
Political analysts around the world made their predictions about the election outcome, but few foresaw such a decisive victory for Trump. What most political experts and election specialists in the U.S. agreed on was that American society is deeply polarized. Traditional media attempted to "side with" their preferred candidates, but one of the new communication channels played a significant role in the election outcome—perhaps even the decisive one.
The former social network Twitter, now X, had a major influence not only on informing the public but also on shaping public opinion. In a time of global polarization, the social network X, according to its owner Elon Musk, fought for freedom of speech. This is why, in Western society and specifically in the U.S., we were able to see an interview with one of the most influential political figures of our time, who lacked the same visibility in traditional media.
Donald Trump currently has over 100 million followers on X, while Elon Musk has over 215 million! Let’s not forget that Trump was once banned from this platform, and his profile was removed!
When X came under Elon Musk’s ownership and Trump was reinstated, a new form of communication with voters emerged, giving them an alternative source of information. This new channel of communication with voters was not only "free," according to Musk and Trump, but also direct! Throughout his campaign, Trump had the ability to communicate directly and instantly with both his supporters and undecided voters.
Trump thus went from being banned on Twitter to engaging in direct communication with voters on X, where he ultimately won!
